Pascal Comelade

Since his first album published in 1975, Pascal Comelade, child of the rock frenzy of the 60s and 70s, passionate about popular music and instrumental music, has created a large body of work including many musical collaborations (PJ Harvey, Robert Wyatt, Jaki Libezeit (Can), Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), The Limiñanas…) and non-musical ones too (Jeanne Moreau, Sergi Lopez, Jean François Stévenin, Bob Wilson…).

His compositions are reminiscent of MC5, Erik Satie, Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone,  a musical language spun into perpetual movement by successive fusions, mixing folklore and underground, repetitive music and varieties, paraphysical riffs and instrument-toys.

A versatile artist, he has also developed an aesthetic approach through a particular link to the visual arts. He draws, paints and collaborates regularly with Miquel Barcelo and Hervé Di Rosa.
