Emilie Simon
Reinventing technological music, Émilie Simon takes us into a world so personal and new that it is impossible to compare her to any other artist.
Born in Montpellier in 1978, Émilie Simon set her sights on music from an early age. After graduating from the Montpellier Conservatoire and studying musicology at the Sorbonne, she broadened her knowledge by perfecting her skills in electronic and contemporary music. She was awarded a Victoire de la Musique for a first eponymous album. It had already made her a household name.
In 2005, she was asked to compose the soundtrack for the documentary film La Marche de l’Empereur.
Since then, she has continued to reinvent herself with each new album. Végétal explores the world of plants and water, and was also awarded a Victoire de la Musique.
À l’Olympia, her live album, brilliantly brings together her greatest hits performed on that legendary stage.
In 2009, she conquered the international market with her album The Big Machine, written almost entirely in English. She surrounded herself with the best musicians.
In 2011, Émilie Simon moved audiences with her album Franky Knight.
This album was later used as the soundtrack for the film La Délicatesse. Finally, Emilie Simon continues to surprise her fans with Mue, released in 2014, an album that is ever more accomplished and personal.
In 2020, after a film score (The Jesus Roll, by and starring John Turturro), an escape between Earth and Mars for a series of singles, Emilie Simon chose to rework (Rework) her first album, released in 2023, in the studio and on stage, to close for good a chapter begun twenty years earlier.
She also published Phoenix, a gothic tale of vampirism, sung and spoken in alexandrine, whose central character, Lily Mercier, is also at the heart of the adventure
Polaris, released in 2024.
